Julia was born in Watson, Minnesota, in  1901.  She moved with her family to Binford when she was 4 years old.

Hans' and Anne's oldest daughter worked in the Binford telephone office beginning when she was 15. Julia and her sister Alice moved to Fargo. There she not only worked as an operator for the phone company in Fargo, but also handled training for operators in outlying offices.

She married Harold Skrove in 1926. They had three children.

In 1968 she and Harold retired and moved from their farm outside Horace, North Dakota to Colorado.

 Julia died in 1980.

Julia and Harold are buried in  Grandview Cemetery,

Fort Collins, Colorado.
