Ruby and "Little Helen"

To eliminate confusion between Iver's daughter Helen and his sister Helen, the family differentiated by calling them "Big Helen" (Iver's sister) and "Little Helen" (Iver's daughter). Ruby, the youngest of the "Original Alms" was five years younger than next sibling Art, but less than three years older than her niece Helen. More like sisters than aunt and niece, Ruby and "Little Helen" were playmates as children, worked together in the 1930's at the Blackhawk in Moorhead,  and remained close throughout their lives.
