The University of Bergen's Digitalarkivet shows the "Udflyttede" entries (leaving the parish) when Ole, Johanne and their three daughters Martha, Oline, and Johanne left Gran for America.

Note that Hans is also listed as a family member but "flytteår ukjent" means that he is already in America at the time the family left.

The records indicate that Mathea, Maria and Erik were all traveling as individuals, while Ole, his wife Johanne, and daughters Oline and Johanne were traveling as a family unit.  This may reflect how their tickets were paid for and we could speculate that, if Hans did pay for his parents and youngest sister,  he may well have arranged the ticket for Oline as well.  The register also records that Erik was traveling with 20 (kr?) in cash.  No "pocket money" is listed for any other family members.

The ship "Rollo" was actually associated with the Wilson line and provided service from Norway to Hull, England.  The family took a train from Hull to Liverpool to board another ship for the transatlantic passage.

Ole and his family boarded the ship "SS Wyoming" of the Guion Line in Liverpool and arrived in New York on May 29, 1888.

From a recollection written by one of Martha's descendants:

...The passage from Christiania to New York City took only three weeks. They traveled by steamboat in which cattle had been hauled the year before. They brought their own food; dried meat, sausage, cheese, flatbrod -in a small round topped trunk. (The round topped trunks were preferred because others could not be stacked on top, thus one had easier access to one's belongings.) Food was provided on the boat but they used only the potatoes. The entire family was seasick most of the way over except for Ole himself. He found a card playing buddy in Erick Anderson (Rekstad) who was traveling alone and was also bound for Watson, Minnesota. Erick had a bottle of whiskey with him which ensured his friendship with Ole Erikson....
