Pearl Grover

Fargo Forum Sunday, August 11, 1963

Pearl worked in the fields from the time she was a very small girl.  In the 1960's it was unusual for a wife to help with farmwork; Pearl worked hard and seemed to enjoy doing it.  She was one of the people interviewed for the lead article in the women's section of the local newspaper entitled "Harvest Time on "Family Farms" Finds Women, Children in Fields."

"...Experienced in the ways of a homemaker-truck driver during harvest, Mrs. Grover has it down to a system.  She even finds time to preserve raspberries and make pickles, as well as take a complete hot meal to the field at noon.

She credits modern appliances with helping to speed housework...."
