Alex Haraldson, 79, passed away Wednesday night in a local hospital, his death being due to burns sustained early Wednesday morning when a blaze ravaged the small building in which he made his home, near the corner of Third Street and Knight Avenue. The fire broke out....apparently from an overheated stove. O. E. Taxeraas ... noticed the aged man crawling out of his burning building on his knees, his clothes afire.  Mr. Taxeraas rolled him over in the snow to extinguish the flames....wrap(ped) him in sheepskin....he was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed that night.

Harald lived for some period of time with Tarje and Geline; records indicate his presence in June of 1885. Harald moved his family back to Thief River Falls in 1919.  He died of pneumonia in 1923 and is buried in Park Ridge Cemetery.  Clara eventually moved to the Seattle WA area, where she died in 1959. Harald and Clara had six children:  Torjus Alvin (1912-1998), Bertha Aagot (1914-1931); Herbert Clarence (1916-1988); Omar Albert (1918-1949); Helen Charlotte (b. 1921); and George (1923-1923).
