Old Stone Church
The Stone Church is the oldest church building in Minnesota, and vies with Highland Prairie Church in Fillmore County as the oldest congregation in the state. It is now associated with Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in the town of Houston, but continues to have services during the summer time.
Although Lina's family attended Rushford Lutheran Church while she was growing up, Lina's father Aanon is buried in the cemetery surrounding the Stone Church. Amund Thorsen and his family were also members of Stone Church.
