It is always too soon to say good-bye...

The following family members left their mark on this website before joining the ancestors whose lives they worked so hard  to share with all of us.  In recognition of their generosity, I'd like to offer a brief word about  their lives with all of you.

Shirley Kanten

1914-2001

Shirley was the daughter of Iver and Helga (Saterbak) Kanten. She spent her entire nursing career working in the  Montevideo healthcare system.  She was an active member of the Chippewa County Historical Society, Sons of Norway, and Genealogical Society, was considered to be the Kanten family genealogist.  

 Muriel Alm Washa

1936-2002

Muriel was a granddaughter of Erick Alm, Hans' older brother.  She worked as a librarian in the Minneapolis public library system and had two sons. Her avid interest in genealogy brought her into contact with many Alm family cousins.

 Ruby Mildred (Alm) Grover

1913-2002

Ruby Mildred Alm was the youngest child of Hans O. and Anne (Kanten) Alm of Binford ND.  This website began with her collection of photos and remembrances.
