Ross enrolled at the University of North Dakota and received his degree in 1948. He began a teaching career, but was recalled to service during the Korean War. He made the Air Force his career.
When the Air Force established its own academy, Ross was selected as a member of the original faculty. He received his PhD from the University of Denver in 1960. He retired from the Air Force in 1968.
Mary lost her battle with cancer after a long and determine fight, with
Ross ever at her side. He started a new chapter of his life in Asheville,
North Carolina,
Ross died on March 14, 2008, shortly after receiving a cancer diagnosis, in Asheville. His cremains were buried in Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain NC with full military honors on May 20, 2008.
Ross and Mary's oldest daughter, Barbara, died in 1972.

Creighton Alm was born in Binford on November
7, 1922.
He graduated from Binford High School and served as a navigator
in the Army Air Corps during
World War II. He married Mary Branson of Missouri in 1944. They had
three daughters. 
with his second wife Carmen.
