Leonard Thor Hegland 1914-1969
Leonard was born in McIntosh on October 28, 1914. He married Myrtle Hamre on April 7, 1934 in McIntosh. They moved to Thor's farm in Oakport Township, Clay County in 1935.
Musical (as were all the "Hegland boys"), he played a mean banjo and a light and easy accordion. Myrt played piano for many late night family sing-alongs at their home in Moorhead.
Leonard was diabetic and died at age 55 on June 23, 1969. He was buried in Riverside Cemetery.
