Sophie Hegland was born at Willow City, ND, June 26, 1888, and was reared at Fosston, MN . She was married there Feb. 9, 1916, to Theodore Bekkerus, after which the couple farmed near Moorhead. They retired into town in 1942. He died in 1966.
She leaves two sons, Harold at the home address, Bernhard, Lake Charles, LA.; five brothers and a sister, Anton Hegland, 455 15th Ave. So, Fargo; George, Oscar and Alfred, all McIntosh, MN; Lawrence, Crookston, MN; Mrs. Grant (Amanda) Nordskog, Fosston; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. (Wright Funeral Home).
Sophie died Feb. 27, 1970 at St. Ansgar's Hospital, Moorhead. Her death was recorded in the Clay County Death Index. Ted died in 1966 at St Luke's Hospital in Fargo ND.
